Where he started
Matthew came into coaching at 347.2 lbs, carrying the kind of weight that had already started showing up in his blood work. He'd tried diets before — plenty of them. What he hadn't had was a program built around his actual life instead of asking him to rebuild his life around the program.
What changed
Over 10 months, Matthew dropped from 347.2 lbs to 234.5 — more than 110 pounds. Along the way, his pre-diabetes diagnosis reversed. He crossed the finish line of his first 5K, something that wasn't on his radar as possible when he started.
The physical transformation is the visible part. The bigger shift was in how sustainable it became — this wasn't a 12-week sprint that ended in a rebound. It was a full rebuild of how he eats, trains, and thinks about his own health, built to hold up long after the program ended.
Why it stuck
Matthew's story is the clearest example of what coaching is actually for. The first 30 pounds come from motivation. The last 5 come from a system that doesn't fall apart the moment life gets hard again — and that's the part most programs never build.
